Trusted by 40,000+ operators since 1989.
Your ERP knows what was bought and what each job should cost. It doesn't know what happened at the saw or the assembly bench until someone tells it, and in a lot of shops that happens late and on paper.
Endpoint records each of these steps with a barcode scan at the moment it happens and sends the result to the ERP.
Endpoint puts receiving, storage, production and shipping on handheld scanners. A typical job runs like this; the table below shows what each ERP supports.
Raw material and purchased parts are received against the purchase order and put away to a bin.
Material is issued to the work order when it is pulled, from the bin it actually came from.
Operators record labor against the job as they start and finish work.
Finished goods and sub-assemblies are completed into stock, ready to pick and ship.
The ERP keeps the books and the bills of materials. Endpoint tracks what happens in the shop and sends it back.
Endpoint for Sage also runs inside Sage 300 and Sage 500. Endpoint Cloud can connect to Sage 100 too; it syncs on a schedule you set, not on every scan, and does not sync bills of materials or work orders.

Fab shops and job shops buy sheet, plate, bar and tube, then use it up job by job. Endpoint scans raw material in against the purchase order and puts it in a known bin. When an operator pulls stock for a job, the scan issues it to that work order. Labor scanned at each operation gives job cost the hours that were actually recorded, instead of a time card filled in at the end of the week.
On Sage 100, Multi-Bin keeps that stock at bin level, and Manufacturing Advanced records an over-issue when a job takes more material than the bill of materials planned. If you already run Sage or Acumatica and are looking at job shop software, you may not need a second ERP.
Machinery and equipment builders run deep bills of materials. Components go into sub-assemblies, which go into larger sub-assemblies and then the machine, so a shortage three levels down holds up the build.
Procurement Automation, for Sage 100 and Endpoint Cloud, calculates demand down through multi-level sub-assemblies and generates purchase orders and work tickets from it. On Sage 100, Production Management Plus ties work tickets to sales orders, and Product Configurator builds a configured product and its bill of materials at order entry, which suits equipment built to order.

Manufacturing inventory software tracks raw materials, work in progress and finished goods as they move through receiving, storage, production and shipping. Some products are standalone systems for smaller shops. Others, like Endpoint, run alongside an ERP, record each step by scan and send it to the ERP.
It depends on whether you're keeping your ERP. A small shop on basic accounting software often looks at a standalone tool with its own bills of materials and production orders. A manufacturer on Sage or Acumatica usually wants software that works inside or alongside that ERP, so there is one item master and one set of costs. Either way, ask the vendor how their system posts to your ERP and how often.
No. Endpoint runs inside Sage and Acumatica, or connects through Endpoint Cloud, and adds the execution layer. Your ERP stays the system of record for the books.
Plenty of shops start there. A spreadsheet holds whatever someone types in after the work is done, so it drifts from the shop the same way paper does, and it gets harder to keep current as jobs and part numbers grow. When the count stops matching the ERP, it is time to look at scanning.
