Trusted by 40,000+ operators since 1989.
It runs the work between buying stock and shipping it to your customers. For most distributors that takes two systems. The distribution ERP holds the financial side: purchase orders, sales orders, pricing, cost and quantity on hand. Warehouse software runs the physical side: receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping and counting, with each step confirmed by a barcode scan.
Endpoint is the warehouse half. It is warehouse software that works with your ERP, built for distributors that sell durable goods to other businesses, the group the Bureau of Labor Statistics classes as NAICS 423: parts, machinery, building materials, metals and similar lines.
In each case the ERP recorded one thing and the warehouse did another. Warehouse software records the work with a scan at the moment it happens, so the two stay in step.
Every receipt, move, pick and count is scanned. What each step includes depends on your ERP; the table below has the detail.
Receipts are scanned against the purchase order, and the operator is told where to put each item.
Stock is tracked by bin, so the system shows which shelf it is on and in which building. Cycle counts run a section at a time while you keep shipping. Running two buildings? Read what changes when stock lives in two places.
Every pick is scanned, so a wrong item is flagged at the bin, and every item is checked again at the pack station.
If you ship to retailers or large accounts, license plates handle a pallet, case or tote as one scannable unit, with case and pallet labels. On Sage 100, Warehouse Professional adds EDI and advance ship notices through MAPADOC.
Your ERP stays the system of record for cost, orders and the books. Embedded, Endpoint runs inside the ERP and posts to it directly. Connected, Endpoint Cloud runs as its own system and sends transactions back.
For a distributor on Endpoint Cloud, the Distribution Package includes four workflows: inbound, storage, outbound and perform, which handles the ERP integration, dashboards and analytics.
If you are choosing a distribution ERP now, ask early whether warehouse management comes with it or is licensed separately. Acumatica, for example, licenses its Warehouse Management module separately from every edition.
Sage 100 Warehouse Advanced adds replenishment of pick locations. Procurement Automation, on Sage 100 and Endpoint Cloud, generates purchase orders from demand.
If your drivers deliver on their own routes on Sage 100, Mobile Sales takes orders at the stop, captures a signature and emails or prints the receipt.

Most wholesale distributors run an ERP or accounting system for purchasing, sales orders, pricing and the financial record of stock. Many add warehouse software for receiving, picking, shipping and counting, along with barcode scanners and label printers. Smaller distributors often get by with spreadsheets and paper next to the ERP until order volume makes that unworkable.
That depends on the ERP you run and how much of the warehouse it covers. Start with the ERP's inventory module: does it direct and check the work, or only record it afterward? Then ask whether a warehouse system runs inside the ERP or connects to it, how often data moves between the two, and whether it handles the bins, pallets and labels your customers expect.
Distribution inventory has a financial side and a physical side. The ERP values stock and plans purchases. Warehouse software keeps the count right by bin, because every receipt, move, pick and count is scanned. If your counts and the ERP keep disagreeing, look first at how stock movements get recorded in the warehouse.
In the warehouse, the app that matters is the scanning app your crew carries all day. Endpoint runs on rugged handheld scanners, and if you already own scanners, send us the model numbers and we will confirm whether they fit the job. See the devices we support. For reps and drivers on the road, Mobile Sales takes orders and records proof of delivery on Sage 100.
