Direct store delivery software for distributors on Sage 100

Mobile Sales is Endpoint's direct store delivery software for Sage 100. Your drivers and route reps take orders and capture proof of delivery at the stop, so the record of what was delivered starts there instead of on a paper ticket.

What is direct store delivery?

Direct store delivery (DSD) is a way of shipping where the supplier or distributor delivers straight to each store, skipping the retailer's distribution center. At each stop the driver often checks the shelf and takes the next order as well as dropping off cases. DSD is most common for products that sell fast or spoil fast, such as bread and other perishables.

Direct store delivery software puts that work on a mobile device, so orders and deliveries are recorded at the stop rather than rebuilt from paper back at the office.

Where DSD paperwork breaks down

Most distributors who look for DSD software have the same paper trail behind them.

  • The driver writes the next order on a ticket, and someone keys it into the system the following day.
  • A store signs for fewer cases than the ticket shows, and the difference only surfaces when the invoice is disputed.
  • Payment collected at the stop is written down, then reconciled by hand.

What Mobile Sales does

Mobile Sales is an add-on to Endpoint for Sage, built for routes and field reps. With it, your drivers and reps:

  • Take orders in the field.
  • Capture proof of delivery: at the stop, the sales order becomes the invoice, the customer signs, and the driver emails or prints the receipt.

How it fits with the warehouse

Mobile Sales is a field sales app for Sage 100, built for routes and reps rather than the warehouse floor. Your warehouse team keeps using Endpoint's scanning app for receiving, picking and shipping.

Sage 100 stays the system of record. Our page on what warehouse software adds to an ERP explains how Endpoint divides the work with your ERP.

Questions to ask any DSD software vendor

DSD products vary widely in what they cover. Before a demo, write down which of these you need.

  • Does it plan and sequence routes, or record what happens on the routes you already plan?
  • What counts as proof: a signature, a photo, a printed or emailed receipt?
  • Can drivers keep working without a connection, and what happens when they reconnect?
  • Can drivers collect cash, check or card, and how is each route settled when the driver gets back?
  • How do orders, deliveries and payments reach your ERP, and how often?
