Aerospace and automotive manufacturing software

Endpoint scans every receipt, pick, count and production step and sends clean data back to Sage, Acumatica, NetSuite or QuickBooks Online.

When the ERP and the shop disagree

A part is in the ERP, but it is still on a cart by receiving because nobody has put it away. Counts happen on printed sheets and get typed in a day later. Production is logged in a shared spreadsheet. Barcodes went into the ERP when it was set up, and scanning them still does nothing.

Each gap sends someone out to answer a question the system should answer, such as where a part is or which lot went into which work order.

Who this is for

Endpoint is built for mid-sized manufacturers and distributors that keep their ERP. In transportation equipment that means:

  • Auto aftermarket parts makers and distributors.
  • Commercial aerospace suppliers making components and assemblies.
  • Trailer and specialty vehicle builders with configured orders and long bills of material.

What Endpoint does for aerospace and automotive manufacturers

Endpoint runs receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping and counts by barcode scan. On Acumatica, Sage 100, Sage Intacct and Endpoint Cloud it can record production steps the same way.

Inside Acumatica
What it adds
Lot and serial capture, license plates, directed putaway and picking, and quality checks at pick and pack. A production module posts material issue, labor and move transactions to Acumatica production orders, with a record of who did each step and where. It needs Acumatica Manufacturing Edition.

Connected to NetSuite, QuickBooks Online or Sage 100
What it adds
Serialized inventory, lot tracking, license plates, and wave, batch or zone picking. A production workflow for work orders, work in progress and BOM consumption can be added, except on the Sage 100 connection.
Runs with
Inside Sage 100, 300, 500 or Intacct
What it adds
Scanned receiving, picking, counts and transfers. Sage 100 adds shop floor packages for material issue, labor tracking and completions, plus over-issue and over-completion on the advanced package. Sage Intacct adds OPS for Intacct for work orders and production tracking. On Sage 100, lot and serial control is set on each item, and Endpoint requires the lot or serial on every scan of a controlled item.

Endpoint for Acumatica and Endpoint for Sage run inside the ERP; on Acumatica, inventory updates in real time as each scan posts. Endpoint Cloud is its own system, hosted in Microsoft Azure, and with Sage 100 it syncs on a schedule rather than with every scan.

Scanning at the pick face is also how wrong parts get caught before they ship; our post on barcode picking covers why. For the wider picture, read how warehouse software works alongside an ERP.

Configured builds and EDI shipping

Trailer builders and other configure-to-order shops often quote a different build for every order. On Sage 100, Endpoint's Product Configurator builds the configuration and its bill of materials at order entry.

When an assembly has sub-assemblies, Procurement Automation on Sage 100 and Endpoint Cloud works out demand through each level and generates purchase orders and work tickets from it.

Shipping to customers who send EDI orders

If your customers order by EDI and want an advance ship notice and labeled cartons with every shipment, MAPADOC on Sage 100 handles the EDI link, builds cases and pallets, and prints ASN labels. It comes with the Warehouse Professional package or as an add-on. See what else Endpoint for Sage adds to Sage 100.

Frequently asked questions

What software do aerospace manufacturers use?

Most use several systems. Engineering works in CAD and product lifecycle management software. The business runs on an ERP for orders, purchasing and cost, often with a quality management system beside it. Many add a warehouse or shop floor system that records each receipt, move, pick and production step by scan, which is the part Endpoint covers.

What is ERP in the automotive industry?

ERP stands for enterprise resource planning. For a parts maker it holds items, bills of material, customer and supplier orders, and the value of inventory. Endpoint works beside it, recording the physical work and posting it to the ERP.

Does Endpoint support AS9100 or IATF 16949?

No. Endpoint is not a quality management system and does not provide AS9100 or IATF 16949 compliance. Keep those processes in your QMS. Endpoint gives you a scanned record of what was received, moved, picked, issued to production and shipped.

Which ERPs does Endpoint work with?

Endpoint runs inside Sage 100, Sage 300, Sage 500, Sage Intacct and Acumatica. Endpoint Cloud connects to NetSuite, QuickBooks Online and Sage 100.
