If you make medical or dental devices, a lot or serial number has to follow every item from the dock to the customer. When a lot is recalled, that record tells you which customers received it.
Endpoint runs receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping and counts by barcode scan, alongside your ERP and your quality system. What it adds depends on the ERP you run.
Endpoint for Acumatica and Endpoint for Sage run inside the ERP; on Acumatica, inventory updates in real time as each scan posts. Endpoint Cloud is its own system, hosted in Microsoft Azure, and with Sage 100 it syncs on a schedule rather than with every scan.
Either way the ERP keeps the books and Endpoint records what happened in the warehouse. More on how warehouse software works alongside an ERP.
Device labels often carry a GS1 barcode or an HIBC barcode, the Health Industry Bar Code standard set by HIBCC. Either can hold the item, lot or serial number and expiry date in one code.
Endpoint for Acumatica supports both on every Warehouse tier from Small up. The entry-level Data Collection product does not. Our post on lot and serial tracking with GS1 barcodes explains what those labels carry.

Most medical device manufacturers use more than one system. A typical setup is an ERP for orders, purchasing and cost, plus a quality management system for documents, complaints and device history records. Many also add warehouse software that records each physical step by scan, which is the part Endpoint covers.
ERP stands for enterprise resource planning. In a device company it holds items, bills of material, purchase and sales orders and the value of inventory. A medical device ERP often adds quality and compliance modules. Endpoint works beside the ERP, capturing the physical work and posting it there.
No. Endpoint is not a quality management system and does not manage UDI compliance or keep device history records. Keep those in your QMS and ERP. For medical device traceability in the warehouse, Endpoint for Acumatica and Endpoint Cloud add a scanned record of lot and serial numbers as stock is received, stored, picked and shipped.
Endpoint runs inside Sage 100, Sage 300, Sage 500, Sage Intacct and Acumatica. Endpoint Cloud connects to NetSuite, QuickBooks Online and Sage 100.
